after many failures and misfortunes related to transitioning i now realize that i don't even have the desire to be a woman, like trans women do. i don't even know what i am. all i know is that i don't look like i want to look. i want to have longer, straight hair, and i want to look younger and not masculine.
it's impressive that many of trans women on this board truly have the urge or desire to be female and see themselves as women on the inside, i used to feel exactly that way and strongly about it when i was a kid but ultimately i think it was just a product of comfort and convenience by being able to feel like a real woman by altering my online appearance/presence. my therapist asked if i wanted to start hrt when i was 13 and i was really scared so i said no. so i think when it came down to the actual mechanism for transitioning being something like that i ultimately wasn't really about it. if it were like a button that you push to look female or something automatically i would, but for some reason that scared me.
