What I think happened was he was basically the worlds first eRentboy, and he's taking HRT because money, meanwhile Icky is trying to "crack his egg" with chat on board the whole way, it would be pretty easy for someone in that situation to convince themselves they're trans. And then all the things that are part of being trans but not part of being a HRT femboy came into his life (voice training, female resocialization, etc etc) and he's wound up depressed and suicidal because now he's actually got gender dysphoria trying to be something he's not. Genderfluid was an easy compromise on what he said vs what he actually is. So to blend in you have to dress like this, and there's nothing wrong with a transwoman dressing like this. Being showy and bombastic in situations that don't call for it make people pay more attention to you, and they make your clocky features stand out.
