>very long term manmoder of many years
>saw a post here about a boymoder applying for a job as a woman and getting an interview
>did the same thing and applied for a woman at an office job
>the emailed me for an interview
>decide i will just go as an ogre hon to the interview, probably won't get job but at least I went outside my comfort zone once in my life
>dress code is business wear
>literally have no women's clothes except binder for my hon jugs
>decide to shop for women's clothes today
>feel gross in the store and leave
Im too much of a pussy to make the jump from man clothes to pic related in one day why did I do this to myself

>>
>>43335124
Anon im 34
>>
>>43335134
That's a mean thing to say, op is trying
>>
>>43335194
I'm being honest, we talk about stuff like that in the office allot
>>
>>43335078
its life you're supposed to be scared
>>
>>43335218
You think the interviewer will go to the rest of the employees and say like
>i interviewed a tranny today haha
Or what
>>
>>43335236
Considering that I work in HR? Yeah
>>
>>43335078
you can get some gender neutral slacks and shirt. people are often much kinder than you think.
>>
What are some good places to shop for professional office clothes on a budget? I need to start dressing for the job I want to have, not like a broken hikkiNEET or gay emo kid.
>>
>>43335243
why the fuck are cissies like this?
>>
>>43335243
damn are people at your office just evil or what? whenever ive worked corpo its mostly been stick to yourself, water cooler talk is about kids or the game or upper management fucking us in the ass. no gossip except about someone not coming into work.
>>
>>43335257
where are you located? roughly.
>>
>>43335253
Like dress as a femmy guy and tell them I'm trans at the interview?

>>43335257
I was at tjmaxx I was going to look at banana republic for sales after and buy bras at target but now I'm just waiting for death
>>
>>43335078
just dress andro/butch or something
>>
>>43335266
They talk about cissies too, anyone who stands out too much becomes cannon fodder for chit chat
>>43335271
I work for a defense contractor maybe that is extra evil but there are a few trannies here (maybe 5 out of thousands of employees though)
>>
>>43335288
nah, girlmode, don't tell them you're trans. that's none of their fucking business. moreso, if you don't feel comfortable wearing or buying Women's clothes, try to lean for more gender neutral clothes. you don't have to jump straight into the deep end of skirts and heels.
i would still recommend going for women's clothes, because the cuts tend to be softer.
banana republic is pretty good, old navy is also really cheap for americans.

Moderately sized city in northeast US.
>>43335288
Thanks for the suggestions, and I'm sorry you're feeling that way. I hope you find the courage to go through with it anyway. Some people are nasty and gossip a lot, but I think dealing with that is just part of being a functioning adult woman.
>>
>>43335341
old navy, banana republic, thrift stores. any large retailer is gonna have some decent picks. focus on building up essentials in the wardrobe and then moving to accessories.
>>

>Some people are nasty and gossip a lot, but I think dealing with that is just part of being a functioning adult woman.
nta, but being neurodiv itself is a recipe for hell at any job where you have to spend time in a room full of normies, not to mention being trans on top
>>
>>43335326
my office was a lot smaller, dealt with customer relations. honestly, we made more fun of clients than anybody in the office. sometimes my boss would complain about other people, but in my experience, if you keep your head down and don't gossip, people tend to leave you out of drama. there's always gonna be a few catty bitches who find something to say about everyone, but those people aren't good to be around in general.
>>
>>43335078
dont ever post my oshi ever again you disgusting fucking ogre
>>
>>43335373
I'm not disagreeing with you, just saying that there's a lot of evil recruiters or at least evil staff in the businesses...
Common one is guys laughing about pronouns and trans people's appearances
>>
>>43335271
>management fucking us in the ass
with tranners this is sometimes more literal
>>
>>43335395
this happened at my work and the general opinion was that they were older men and you can't really stop them and besides there wasn't really any harm in it even if it makes me cry
>>
>>43335455
Yeah that's how it is here too.
I'm a boymoder so they make these jokes to my face expecting me to laugh and I can't do anything about it without outing myself.
>>
>>43335341
My interview is Friday im trying so hard to make myself go back and shop
>>
>>43335395
yeah, i guess im leaning into the hopeposting because i dont want anyone to feel like this is 100 percent gonna happen. trannies already have high unemployment rates because of job discrimination, we don't need to check out ahead of time. not saying that's what you're implying, i'm glad you're providing another perspective. gotta approach every situation with a measured attitude.

>there wasn't really any harm in it even if it makes me cry
If it's any consolation, I hear it's common for cis women and other minorities to have this sort of experience with older men at work too.
>>43335480
You can do it, nona!
>>
>>43335480
one thing that helped me with buying clothes at the beginning was blasting music in my headphones and going right as the store opened so there were only a few people there. also look at the store's catalogue ahead of time, know what you want to get, (plus a few backups in case they're sold out), and know your rough size (harder with women's clothes, because sizing is fucked up).
basically just do whatever you can to minimize the time in store and have a goal so you don't feel overwhelmed.

when did you start hrt
