Bloodborne is slop. It's the least inspired of any FromSoft game world. 'Lovecraftian horror' is always going to feel like a rerun but they put even less effort to hide that than most. The only interesting narrative addition is the fixation on 'motherhood' but it's pretty clear that the reason so many trans women get drawn to that is just fantasy projection rather than actually caring about how it's handled and what the game has to say. Gameplay wise it's also mediocre. You are at all times incentivized to play brainlessly because of how Rally works as a mechanic, build diversity is gutted because so many of the interesting weapons aren't available till halfway through the game and there's no respec and one of the starting weapons is horrifically broken anyway and lets you R2 spam every boss to death, having to farm blood vials is beyond stupid, and the only boss that's actually hard is Orphan who just has a bunch of visually disjointed hitboxes and spams mass AoE swipes. It has some good music and visuals but that's it.

I'm loving the game rn but I kinda hate how... inconvenient it can be? I don't mind having to go through a levelup lady after playing DS2-3 but needing to warp back to base just to swap out runes and gems and fast travel around is just useless downtime. Also having to farm blood and bullets is just bad too but everyone and their mother has already complained about it.
