how does everybody have a job

i really want to move out but i dont know how to get a job
>>
>>43421160
so real i have no idea how to get one i keep applying
>>
>>43421163
>>43421160
Literally take whatever you can get, I’m a drop out and work 2 jobs, like it’s awful but keep doing it, also just lie on your resumes and have people willing to lie for you for references, most people hiring don’t care to actually check anything, I’ve been saying I’m a college graduate now for like 10+ years and nobody has ever checked
>>
>>43421160
Make a job... That's how people did it back when there were no jobs at all
>>
>>43421220
Thats just it, I cant get anything. I apply and maybe 1 in 20 shitty job applications I get an interview which I fail by being a loser.

i also have no means of getting anywhere which complicates things
>>
>>43421231
i dont know how to do that and make any money
>>
>>43421238
>doesn't know how to make money
You have to be over 18 to post here, anon-chan. You make something, you sell it. You provide a service for pay.
>>
>>43421249
not much point making something thats going to pay pennies is there
>>
>>43421276
>pay pennies
why would you pick something that doesn't pay you...?
>>
>>43421285
thats why im asking you, what doesnt pay pennies
>>
>>43421160
McDonald’s grind time
>>
>>43421234
Call center remote work? It’s shit but they’ll literally hire anyone, terrible wage though and like if you sound even remotely feminine you’ll get rape and death threats :( but if you can handle that then that’s an option
>>
>>43421331
thats funny you think i can get a job at mcdonalds
>>
>>43421354
That was the strat in high school tho just go there for a month and get a lil cash before high school starts
>>
>>43421415
they usually hire people based on personality so im fucked
>>
>>43421420
Fake it till you make it ngl i prefer just being alone but if i have to I’ll fake being upbeat and chatty for a job interview
>>
>>43421299
You're asking me? It depends on what you're good at. I don't know you...
>>
>>43421883
im not good at anything
>>
>>43421939
Then why would anyone hire you...? How are +18 with no skills at all?
>>
>>43422017
You just told me to make my own money? What does that have to do with being hired.

Why would being over a certain age mean you have skills?
>>
>>43422017
And how am I even supposed to know what im good at if I've never had a job? How would I test this or prove it to anyone? I hate judgemental questions like this.
>>
>>43422030
You've been here for +18 years and haven't gotten good at anything?
>>43422075
why on earth would you need a job to tell you you're good at something? This has to be a larp.
>>
>>43422110
Are you joking? Most people who are 18-20 havent done anything besides go to school. But no im not really good at anything. can you be more specific?

>why on earth would you need a job to tell you you're good at something

well if you cant get hired to do the job then you cant learn to do the things that job requires? how am i supposed to know id be a good idk, baker if ive never done weeks of 8 hour shifts in a commercial bakery.
>>
>>43422136
>Most people who are 18-20 havent done anything besides go to school.
Art? Sculptures? Design? Playing an instrument? Sports and gym? Organizing events? Coding or webpage design? Acting? Singing? Plant work? Chemistry stuff? Anatomy? Simulating owing a business? People do a lot in high school, even if you didn't join clubs you were likely introduced to things that interest you in some way. Nothing made you want to practice it outside of school?
>if you cant get hired to do the job then you cant learn to do the things that job requires?
You bootstrap it while getting help from online sources. You don't have to get hired as a chef to learn how to cook.
>>
>>43422194
I did 3d for a bit, im fairly good at cooking, i played the guitar. ive done a little bit of gardening im not professional competent in any of these things. its just things you do for a little bit so i dont really consider them skills.
>>
>>43422211
You need to teach yourself some skills, otherwise there won't be any way for you to make money...
>>
>>43422379
thats what i was asking you, what skills are worth learning? what skills do you have?
>>
>>43422388
You can teach yourself anything and make it worth money. Wood working, blacksmith, making a video game, sculpting, fursuit creation, taxidermy, 3d printing, working on cars, breeding exotic insects, soda or juice creation... The sky is the limit. Anything as long as you have space for it.
>>
>>43422444
yeah and if i want to get to the moon i just have to jump really high right
>>
>>43422479
>teaching yourself a skill and making money off of it is impossible unless someone hires me
ngmi
>>
>>43421334
My remote call centre job is absolutely soul crushing and I've never wanted to kill myself more.
>>
warehouse near me didnt even interview and i somehow managed to not get fired. its even part time and i can walk out whenever i feel anxious plus no customers to interact with its great
>>
>>43421160
Oof. Menial retail shit is not the way to go. Believe me. Get into a legit trade. Electricians, pipe fitter, framer, concrete ect. Better pay, unions (usually) and paid job training. Electrical shit is kinda sissy work too so you won't break yourself. Probably break yourself more in a scrappy department store anywho
>>
>>43421160
I don't really know. My mom is trying to get me into a program that provides support for the developmentally disabled and they should be able to provide me resources for not just "getting a job" but actually starting and maintaining a career. I wanna be a programmer mainly, but I wanna do hardware design on the side.
