I need someone to actually explain what resonance is when it comes to voice training and not in a way that requires 2 phds and stringing together 10 separate youtube videos
>>
i'm not an expert but iirc:
it's how your voice "resounds" through your vocal tract before it comes out of your mouth. the longer the vocal tract, the more masculine-sounding the resonance is and vice versa. by raising your larynx, you shorten your vocal tract.

So resonance just means speaking with a smaller vocal tract?

i think so, yeah

Higher register resonance involves amplifying the sound more through your face (mouth and nose), while lower register resonance occurs in the throat and chest. If you look up how it relates to singing it may be easier to understand.

why is it impossible to get succinct explanations of anything in voice training
