I live in a very liberal country and I had to resort to black market T in spite of my efforts over the years. It's common to meet trans women who have E prescriptions, but every trans man I met was pre-T and struggling to get a prescription, and the rest I highly suspect of sourcing illegal T. Could the reason why FTMs seem "less committed" be this? Have we been misled to believe that they're giving out T like candy?
>>43447340Yeah T is just harder to source unfortunately
>>43447340actually, yeah. around here, T is relatively harder to get when you compare with E, which you can literally buy off of any drugstore w/o prescription. still, you can easily get a doctor to prescribe you T through some government programs aimed at trans health.
You can buy t online with the same ease as e though if not easier
>>43447340t has been abused by body builders for decades so its pretty tightly controlled. estrogen is only really bought greymarket by a relatively small subset of trannies so no one gives a fuck.
>>43447621more likely to be out of stock and depending on the country you're in is way more likely to get you in legal trouble
>>43447340>Have we been misled to believe that they're giving out T like candy?people in general seem to be mislead about how easy it is to access trans healthcare. right wing media makes it seem like doctors are pushing this stuff on kids while irl you're basically forced to wait til adulthood and even then you have to jump through hoops potentially for years to get any kinda hrt.T is much harder to get than E on the black market due to it being a controlled substance tho. mtfs much more often start hrt before they get on official prescription.
Where do you guys get this info from its easy as 123 to get T off the internet the chances of it being seized is so little
Brother it's medication, for some people it isn't a status symbol and it's essential for their daily life, what's this posturing
>>43447340it's can be extremely easy depending where you live. i don't think it's more gatekept than mtf hrt in legal channels from what i noticed. DIY also varies heavily from very easily obtainable and legal to posseses (just not sell) to heavily restricted >Could the reason why FTMs seem "less committed" be this? part of it, another part is that for some reason poons fearmonger T and people think they're doomed to bald and get fat and have hair on their backs, and prolly a bunch more that are beyond the scope of this paper>Have we been misled to believe that they're giving out T like candy?yes and nolike i said there are people who just give it out based on informed consent, or at first visit before finishing the diagnostics, or just with very little paperwork. but different countries differ widely in their attitudes
