I didn't understand what I was experiencing as a teenager, it just felt like my body was betraying me. Mental health-wise I became extremely depressed, suicidal ideation, and I was constantly at odds with myself in my head. No one put any ideas into my head about what I was experiencing. I figured out I was trans sometime after that, and started seeking advice from medical professionals. Apparently I ticked off all the boxes for the stanards back then, and I was already extremely androgynous without any active effort. The thing that really sealed the deal for me though was the fact that going on HRT chemically balanced me out. I don't have any other way to describe it other than I just felt normal. That was 15 years ago. I'm really just a normal person now. I'm not a frequent visitor to this board though, I think the last time I popped in was...maybe 3 years ago? 4? Not sure. So I'm not exactly the average poster for this board. I have an actual life and I actively enjoy it. The political climate is stressful and awful though.
Also completely isolating human beings is very destructive for mental health, considered cruel and unusual punishment. Our species evolved through socializing.
