wdym that one is honestly the best cluster b one to have lmao? are you kidding?
My so-called father is a pathological narcissist. I hope you all die.
>>43461692no i understand. >>43461696ive been living alone really for the first time ever after breaking up with a long relationship (im 26) and part of the reason i broke it off is i literally could not stop doing evil shit. i think i keep people around only to make myself feel better about myself and im realizing that i intentionally cause pain in almost everyone ive ever known and that the reason i keep having to reset my life is people eventually sus out that i'm not good for them. the only people ive ever been able to maintain a mutually beneficial relationship with are colleagues where we network and refer eachother in our careers/help eachother learn about new stuff. i have a therapist for a surgery letter but honestly i think i might bring this up (after i get the letter ofc) bc i'm tired of not being able to stop myself from hurting everyone around me and unfortunately im good enough at being covert with it that it takes about 3 years on average for them to know.
>>43461692Genuinely what's the difference? They basically act the same
>>43461786retarded to say but go read r/NPD and r/BPD, idk how to verbalize it but you'll see it
>>43461721Def bring it up with ur therapist besty, just really try to be honest because you are going to have the urge to hide it / portray yourself in a better light which will prevent the therapist from giving good advice. they only know what you tell them after all
>>43461826probably will
Literally no narcissist in the history of narcissism would ever admit they have npd. You’re just depressed with low self esteem and managed to convince yourself there’s something intrinsically wrong with you because it’s easier to accept that than face the terrifying reality that you can be better.
>>43462660real narcissism isnt the simple pop culture version you hear about on social media
>>43462727I know. I’m not talking about self diagnosed larpers. The fragile ego of a real narcissist is incompatible with the accountability necessary to recognise they have npd.
>>43461673You sure it's narcissism and not autism or borderline PD? I thought I was a narcissist for years because of YouTube and pop psych. Nope, just BPD.They can look VERY similar.Covert Narcissism can look similar to BPD until you see the actual differences. Covert NPD tends to have an undercurrent of, "I could have been great if given a chance, no one sees my special genius," and a lot of conspiritorial thinking on, "they are spying on me and stealing my ideas/art/music/etc," when it comes to celebrities; they have TONS of envy. They are hyperfixated on fame and fortune, and tend to think anyone who has made it doesn't deserve it. They tend to explode when people in their life doesn't recognize their specialness.NPD and Autism lack empathy; and can be easily mistaken for each other.BPD, on the other hand, while attention seeking, tends to be interpersonal, and we have a hard time understanding other people's motives while having empathy. For example, I tend to see emotions in others as far more intense than they are, and I tend to see neutral emotions as disgust, anger, and rejection.Autism experiences disgust, anger, rejection, and discomfort as interest, a desire to get closer, etc. It's why they tend to like their bullies. They think the visible revulsion is genuine like, joy, and interest. As for the least cool PD, that'd probably be Paranoid or Avoidant. NPD isn't even in the top three for the most dangerous diagnoses. The top three, in order, are ASPD, PPD, and then in a distant third, BPD. NPD is tied with OCPD. BPD is up there because we tend to try to hurt ourselves and can hurt others in moments of panic.>>43462660>>43462803Not true. Many NPDemons see it as a boon. In fact, one of the best diagnostic tools for NPD is flat out asking them if they are a narcissist. Grandiose narcissists, if they are aware of the traits of NPD, will, one, admit to it, and two, try to minimize it and will say that it's actually a good thing.
>>43463104true im a narcissist but I also don't care cause I'm cool
>>43463104 contThis being said, 58% of transsexuals have a Personality Disorder. The most common is BPD, followed by NPD. NPD tends to be successful in some areas of life. BPD, on the other hand, we're a hot fucking mess. Wild emotions tend to not do well with relationships, and that includes working relationships. I've thrown guns, welding helmets, coffee, etc, at a coworkers general location. I've thrown coffee at my mom. I experience frequent paranoia moments where I think friends, family, and coworkers are plotting against me to get me fired or cut me out of their lives.NPD, on the other hand, would be more Machiavelian in their approach to these above instances, and their paranoia would be more in line with, "everyone is trying to take credit for my work because they are stupid and incompetent," all while stealing credit for other people's work.NPD: I'm better than everyone else, and if this isn't affirmed constantly I am going to lose itBPD: Everyone hates me and I'm worthless oh wait no I am fucking great and everything is awesome oh wait no I should die, GIVE ME ATTENTION OR I WILL DIEAutism: I really like this thing so I am going to ramble and interrupt and inject it and myself into everything because I simply do not know better.t BPD anon who lived with both autistic lovers and NPDemon roommates
>>43463154 contHave some diagnostic tests. These are ones they actually administer in clinical settings.https://psytests.org/arc/catien.htmlhttps://psytests.org/diag/bpien.htmlhttps://psytests.org/darktriad/npi40en.html
>>43463104i (op) work a very well paying corporate job and p much only care about passing, being skinny, and money. i have struggled with low empathy all my life. >I tend to see emotions in others as far more intense than they are, and I tend to see neutral emotions as disgust, anger, and rejection.i do get this but maybe different, for example if i really struggle to not take constructive criticism at work as a personal insult. ive grown and move past it quickly now but that is always my initial reaction>>43463184i took these before making the thread, says i have npd
>>43463388Well, if it makes you feel any better, even though they say BPD is the most treatable personality disorder, what they actually mean is that BPD is the most manageable personality disorder. It's why relapse is guaranteed within 16 years. Our suicide rate drops, and that's about it. We still struggle everywhere else, and learn to suffer in silence to keep people around... until we can't and everything falls apart, for the cycle to repeat.NPD is treatable, though, and the treatment tends to stick once it starts working. That's a big if, though.>example if i really struggle to not take constructive criticism at work as a personal insultI take compliments as insults.
>>43463154what about HPD?
>>43463825It's not particularly common, even amongst cis people. They're just kinda potted house plants.
>>43461673Have a friend with NPD she's a bitch occasionally but I don't mind usually. Most people won't know, "narcissist" has just become a catch all for "person who abused me" nowadays. With therapy from what I understand narcissism is pretty manageable you just have to understand treatment will be immensely painful mentally and being better is going to be a years long process. I'd like to say it'll be worth it for you, as it can make your life more stable long term, but I obviously can't know.
>>43463825HPD isn't common among trannies because psychs consider it a cis woman disorder.
>>43463887HPD just isn't common at all. BPD is generally considered women's disorder, and we are diagnosed with it a lot. Men can have both BPD and HPD, but it's rare, despite the progtard screeching. It's like how NPD and ASPD are more male disorders: women can have them, but it is rare. The ratio sits around 4 for every 1 out of the gendered ratios, regardless, aka 80% gender related ratio. In trannies, over 50% have BPD, and maybe 20% have NPD.Generally, I associate NPD with non-medical posers, generally with the covert presentation. They're after the victim sympathy, and are not actually after actual transition and physical change.Take this as you will. I'm almost 40, transitioned in my teens, and this has been my experience moving through the LGBT community over the past 2~3 decades.>>43463724 is a good example of what I am like when I am being honest about my condition when I am seeing myself in a negative lens.
>>43463972I've met quite a few people with HPD but I've also been in weirder spaces for a long time and have met a lot of people with extremely uncommon disorders so my perspective is skewed. So I was half joking when I said that, as from my experience HPD is quite like ODD or CD in being a bit of a discriminatory disorder.
Bruh I swear having parents who are narcissists is like having kids
bump
>>43461673idk if I'm a narcissist or just everyone I interact with on a day to day basis is below melike I act it but like the people in my friend group see me as a woman who knows nothing and they constantly fuck up their lives with drugs and general retardation
>>43468090>just everyone I interact with on a day to day basis is below meIf everyone you hangout with is below you you're on the same level as them
>>43461673>least cool personality disorderunless ur pretty and alr cool to begin with then narcicism is good>>43461710personality disorders don’t exist ur fathers just a bad person>>43461786npd = narcicism or something idfkbpd = what “doctors” call traumatized abused women when they just don’t like >>43463154personality disorders aren’t real>>43463825misogynist lie same as bpd
