when i was in the uk and buying alcohol, my id wasn’t accepted for some reason, the shop clerk was like “ah it’s whatever, just don’t tell my boss” and the guy queuing behind me was like “i don’t think this person was planning to do anything that's not sensible, were you?” and laughed. i do wonder if being called “this person” meant that i looked androgynous and if it was basically the same as getting misgendered of if i’m reading too much into it. did i get misgendered?

how the fuck would we know? we weren't there.

well, i don't know either, that's why i am asking. i don't think the guy that said it meant anything bad by it, he seemed like the sort of 50 year old british guy who'd vote reform though. it's just that i was feeling kinda good because i felt like i didn't really get misgendered this year at all and then i remembered that this thing happened. but it seems really odd to refer to a stranger as "this person" as opposed to "he" or "she"

Better than being called a pervert transvestite and having a brick lobbed at your head. Dont think too much about it.

well, i was manmoding anyway, but i usually get gendered female while manmoding. it's incidents like these that make me want to never stop manmoding though

No, autist. He said "this person" as he was joking and "this person" is a more formal and funny way of saying it.

maybe, depends how he said it tho

>i usually get gendered female while manmoding
I hate fakemoders

it didn't seem like he was mocking me or making fun of me, i think it was more to do with him being amused at the encounter because i'm clearly old enough to buy booze. i also have no idea why my id was rejected, it was a citizencard that's usually fine in like tesco or whatever, but the clerk was like "i don't think we can accept that" after typing the dob from the card into the computer, maybe he mistyped something. but anyway that's not the important part

i mean if i was a cis woman who was confident about her appearance, i wouldn't think anything of it, but as an insecure tranny, i must meticulously analyze every interaction to determine if i was being clocked or not

yeah if he said it in a bemused tone then i'd imagine it's like >>43466180 said
