How can HRT both cause "irreversible" effects, and also you can somehow "de"transition to reverse those effects? Isn't that inherently contradictory?

The point of detransitioning isn't to restore you to what you are, it's to make you a living cautionary tale to fit the script that the right wants: you're supposed to look "mutilated" and talk about your constnt depression, agony and trauma. You can't ever be seen to recover from it because that would put a limit on the amount of theoretical damages you suffered and then trans medical care could be given an accurate risk assessment. The right doesnt want that because detransition is so rare to begin with, every detransitioner is basically precious object to them, like the way north Korea parades around a handful of american defectors.
