But there was nothing I could do about it because I didn't come from their world.So this set up this horrible equation in my mind: if someone didn't like me, I felt I had to prove myself worthy of being liked, the whole time not believing it myself, always feeling like convincing anyone was a fraud. If someone did like me, I figured there must be something wrong with their character judgment and dismissed their opinion.In other words, no matter what feedback I got, the conclusion was still the same: "I'm not good enough." And this is a horrible place to be in intellectually for your self respect. So yeah, you're going to be angry all the time.And I still deal with it today.
