>>43561304as a tranny, I don't like this setup at all>>43562289this is wrong because with a dynamic tiler you usually need not have buttons for resizing, spawning and killing panes as that is intended to happen via keyboard shortcuts/dmenu/rofi.also you can usually have a much more minimalistic status bar without icons or none at all and smaller borders if ur not a gapfag. all of this gives your programs more real estate which is what matters most on small displays.nowadays I just use a dell slim client and cheap 19" 4:3 monitor I got given by the local library cause they were gonna throw it away with win10 ltsc kit cause it justwerkz and I don't play vidya tho.
>>43562473idc i wanna use one program at a time like a normal person and especially because of the dual core cpu, the only time i have to think about multitasking is when im using vscode desu
>>43562942>vscodeur larp isn't complete you have to use neovim
>>43561304>not using ly greeteryeah its over for u sorry :(
>>43563041atp it's not even larping anymore s2gto further the larp they should install a vim skin & vim keybinds for vscode then proceed to never use any vim keybinds apart from :w
should I learn (evil mode) emacs or neovim girlies? I already use vim when editing config files + vim emulator in vscode but I want at take my setup to the next level so I can mog normalslimes tbqhneovim feels like the obvious choice but emacs has this sort of allure to me, also all the chudies use neovim for some reason whereas emacs users are usually more autismbrained and that appeals to me
>>43562942>i wanna use one program at a time like a normal personyeah this is definitely where ur larp breaks. a master window on the left + 2 slaves on the right can work even on a 12 inch screen if ur not fucking everything up with le webapps or, even worse, electronslop. I use it all the time for grocery lists, bookkeeping, dev work, calendar organising stuff, quickly switching song by spawning ncmpcpp through wm shortcuts. use a condensed monospace font at like 12pt for everything and there's so much u can fit on those pixels if u don't have to account for fatfingers on a trackpad / jitterhand on a mouse.>>43563041also this>>43563582if ur just starting out I'd recommend doom Emacs. The added benefit is org-mode, REALLY nice file browsing with dired, minibuffers, better completion/language support, magit, custom Elisp modules, integrated window management, eshell etc.Especially if u already know vim keybinds and plan on doing bigger dev projects it's just a bit nicer since Elisp works as native unifying glue between all these features.Last time I tried getting this functionality in nvim, it felt like a real clusterfuck. Still using it a lot on terminal tho for quick edits.
>>43564682ty nona I'll try doom emacs this weekend I think
>>43564735np the install is a bit finicky iirc but with a bit of googling u should figure it out!
