Personally I shoot like shit with most striker fired guns. Glock is getting reccomended because it's really difficult to go wrong with them. Imo the ergonomics are horrible but it never ceases to amaze me how well I manage to shoot with them when a friend lends me one. IMO stay away from revolvers. Get a 9mm with a 17rnd mag, and get good expanding defensive ammo.

I have a small caliber fancy gun and i wasted my money. Just remember even in a self defense shooting they confiscate your gun and you have recorded instances of them losing or stealing nice guns from evidence lockers. Get a cheap gun in the largest caliber you are comfortable grabbing in 3 seconds within 7 ft of an attacker.
