The owners were wealthy before starting the business. The stores are owned by franchises that pay fees to Chick-fil-A. The franchise owners aren't necessarily ideologically aligned with the owners of the company. Even if every single progressive refused to eat there, it would barely change a thing for the people behind the brand, but it would hurt the franchise owners and the people they employ, who are, mostly, young and hardworking.
