how do you know when laser hair removal is no longer effective and you should just switch to electrolysis? I've had like 18 sessions of laser so far covered by my insurance and it has gotten rid of pretty much all my facial hair but the last hairs on my upper lip and chin just wont go away. They still all shed after i have a session of laser but always around the 2-3 week mark they grow back in about the same density with maybe a few less hairs i think? my laser tech said she feels we can definitely still get rid of more of them but i feel like laser has run its course for me and done what it can do. is there maybe a different setting i can ask her to use? i ideally want to stick to laser because its much less time consuming on a regular basis than electrolysis but if laser is pointless now then i'll switch to electrolysis obviously
wish I knew :/ I’m in the same boat. Are you on an anti androgen? I’m doing mono therapy with good levels but have been wondering if getting my T to actual 0 would make a difference. My laser tech is always saying “The ones around the lips are really hormone sensitive”
>>43641898i was on dutasteride when i was on pills and i switched to injections this january and have much lower t levels since. i havent really seen a difference in how effective laser is tho based on my levels at least from what i can tell. the women in my family also have facial hair so i might just be doomed regardless of my levels lol
>>43641740if the laser is working for you nona you should probably keep at it. i had bad results with electrolysis and its very uncomfortable, you shouldn't assume it's inherently more effective. you could get a lousy tech or be resistant to it, which i'm pretty sure is what happened to me.
>>43641740Before you switch to electrolysis, make sure your laser provider is using an Alexandrite Laser (if not, find one who does). You can up the joules for Alexandrite if your tech hasn't done it already. The last hairs are always more stubborn.
