Do you have any rhythm? Can you pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time? Because both of those songs can be played with pretty linear movements of a single finger on your left hand and a very simple rhythm on the right. What you might struggle with is actually getting a clean note out of the instrument to begin with since bass strings are big and heavy, but honestly that's still not really hard it's just not what people who've ever touched a guitar expect.

Also...depending on what you do, playing the exact thing isn't that important as long as you're in the key, you're in the feel, you know what your chord is. That depends on the situation of course, like if you're playing rhythm guitar for a punk show in a dingy basement full of assorted crackheads nobody's gonna care if your chord voicings are a little strange (not that there's that much you can do with punk chord voicings but you follow).One group I work with I have most of the responsibility for arranging our originals, if not writing them, and despite that several of my own parts have never been the same two shows in a row. End of the day if the set sounds good nobody cares.
