i have been thinking about how there are no rituals of becoming for trans women. cis people have various rituals, literal or otherwise, that signify them arriving at new versions of themselves. a bat mitzvah being a literal example, but you could metaphorically imagine things like getting married as being similar. trans women have lots of things that focus on the between parts, of transition, but nothing that is about arriving. i think srs is sometimes given that weight but that is no accessible to everyone and as time goes on is less culturally understood as being an arrival. i have ideas for over the top rituals i might do in the absence of any being given to us
