Best books about hypnotism and maybe the different ways it can be done? Im assuming theres probably a difference from what they did in the old days vs how the cia did it in their modern way etc
>>24664483not to do a ted talk or anything, but I hope you already have the head start to know that a lot of what people think hypnotism is? It isn't. I mean people think because oif TV that you plant this "post hypnotic suggestion; trigger word" amd they do anything. Strip naked, cluck like a chicken.>lol>In a psychology class when I was at university. The one Dr. said he wasn't going to do hypnotism. He was just going to relax a volunteer. He had a boring monotone and went through breathing exercises. Little jokes. He asked if he could touch her with a pin. He not only touched her? He was sticking these pins in her arm, and they stuck straight up. Eyes closed, thinking he was just "touching" her like when they talked before this started... she reported no pain.>Then? He said that was what hypnotism really was. Deep relaxation with a coach that is experienced. There's trust. He also joked that if a person will let you stick pins in their arm, it even easier to just talk to you and try to remember details for you.
>>24664483Hypnotism is at least 99% giving people an out, a way to not take accountability. >quack like a duck on this stage in front of 10k peopleAlmost no one would do it but if you give them that out of "it was the hypnotism," they will do it. It removes all ramifications from action, it is the rare person who would not exploit and revel in that chance. The other ~1% is inconclusive.
Hypnotism is so interesting, so terrifying, and so illustrating. I have seen it done. And this removed many of my doubts. Yet it is obviously not powerful enough to be used to propel people do any your absolute bidding. If it was, can you imagine how easy it would be to convince a hypnotised acolyte to commit some mass shooting or assassination? But there is something in us deeply capable of unthinking capitulation.

Are you interested in hypnotherapy or stage hypnosis?Or maybe just curious about the topic generally? Also the CIA found that hypnosis didn't really fit their "needs". It's FAR easier to just throw ungodly sums of money at people while threatening everything they hold dear to get people to do what they want. Classic carrot and stick has many forms but generally it's super effective.

>>24666146Hmm I guess Id want to know about it in general, but typically to use it on someone though
>>24665382That’s called belief / delusion. You seed an idea in someone’s mind and they believe it so much that they will make it happen. Read Macbeth and Faust: the witches manipulate others into action.
>>24666171And as >>24665308 said, it’s about creating trust first: the person you are hypnotizing must overly trust you before you can seed an idea in their mind.
>>24666165I would give something like "Practical Lessons In Hypnotism by by William Wesley Cook"Or anything from this list below a try. https://bookauthority.org/books/best-hypnosis-booksThat said, most of what I know about hypnosis I learned free online from web pages, podcast, and e-books. Ain't a pro at it, but practiced on a few friends for fun and relaxation as well as wrote a few scripts and used it on myself. It's something you have to practice A LOT to actually get good at though. It's why most professionals swear by going to proper training programs that are set up for you to grind exp as efficiently and effectively as possible.
