things that make a book cover lose aura points:

>authors name bigger than the title

This is how lots of authors jumped from obscurity to the limelight. McCarthy was known as “the author of All The Pretty Horses” for a long time, even though he had already written some of his best work many years before that was published.

Plenty of excellent authors are known for works that they probably wouldn’t consider their best. If marketing blurbs and award badges are something you are still contending with, you probably haven’t been reading for that long.
