As a native Spanish speaker, I've never considered "people" from Chile to be speaking Spanish (as no native Spanish speaker understands the gurgling barbaric noises they excrete when speaking), but I do find their tendency to produce particularly interesting and rare things in the continent to be endearing. For those that have read it, is 2666 one of those things worth the reach into Chilean-dog territory?

The other three sections sped by for me. Amalfitano and Archimboldi best sections. But then I'm an American and read a translation, so your mileage will likely vary.
