What do you think of Taoism?
slave morality gobbledygook
>>24681037Far preferable over Confucius
>>24681040you're a slave to your ego
>>24681044and the chinky winkies he wrote this for were slaves to the rice fields
>>24681040/thread>>24681044>you're a le slave... to yourselffunny, that's the exact cope christcucks use lol
>>24681082what's a better philosophy then?
>>24681085Intellectuals ought to take what they find useful from any philosophy and leave the rest. Dogmatism is for midwit slaves. I dont subscribe to any one philosophy, personally
>>24681037My favorite, among other things. Quite entertaining, surprisingly optimistic, and rather pragmatic>>24681040You're trying too hard.
>>24681085moderate skepticism
>>24681037Moral of the story: When colliding with other boat, hide quickly and keep silent.
>>24681037who tf wouldn't get angry if a boat crashes into theirs -- especially an angry person -- just because there's nobody in the boat? people curse at their cars and slow computers and malfunctioning phones all the time. people get angry when their toilet starts leaking or they fail a squat when working out. if all of my fruits fell out of my boat because another crashed into mine i'd be pissed tf off
theres frustrating little on it in the west outside of turbo academic resources. Alan watts is fine for day 1 but after that its hard to casually learn.
>>24681247The dao is trying to tell chinese slave rice peasants to be like a boat with nobody on it so they MIGHT have a chance to survive when the next feudal warlording comes by to redistribute everything. The whole thing promotes meekness as a means of survival. It is literal slave mentality
Where is that from?

Seems a bit like stoicism. “We can choose how we react to situations” kinda deal. Treating “all boats as empty” seems like a foolish endeavor though: there are moments where anger is appropriate, even necessary. You don’t have to be a doormat or a raging pirate, theres degrees between.
>>24681257>The whole thing seems to promote meekness as a possible means of survival. It appears to reflect what some might call a slave mentality.
I'm a NEET too.
>>24681037Based.
>>24682065It's more like solipsims and treating everyone as a non-person.
>>24681037ive been an active practicioner of internal alchemy for about a year and believe it completely
