Where do you go for book reviews these days? The newspapers have basically stopped printing them and goodreads is just women complaining

Books I read tend to have a single committed reviewer on goodreads for the kind of book and they are always very good. Like with Byzantine history there is just one guy who reviews just about everything and it’s always in depth. Academic reviews are also really good if you ever find them
