What's his best works? I loved A Christmas Carol and want to know what to read next. I have a copy of Great Expectations. Should I go with that? What else is worth reading?

I really enjoyed Hard Times. Its pretty short compared to most of his books, too.

Yeah Great Expectations is good. Been ages since I read them but Bleak House, Little Dorrit, Oliver Twist also.

I love The Pickwick Papers. Probably my favorite novel. I read it twice in a row the first time I read it lol

I liked Great Expectations best of the novels of his I've read, Id consider it my favorite English language novel, Copperfield and Bleak House were essentially of the same quality in their highest moments but at times unimaginably slow (particularly in the case of Bleak House, there is not the first movement in the plot I think until the 500th page)

It really is such a fun novel. I love all the stories with the story, and you can see a young Dickens experimenting with different styles and techniques.

I didn't think the story was that great, but the first chapter of The Chimes was pretty GOAT with how he wrote the personification of the wind.
