what is most /lit/ way to travel Greece? Your favourite /lit/ places in Greece? What is most /lit/ way to travel in general? I have 3 weeks of vacation to use this year, i think about going to Greece at the end of september or beginning of october. It should still be warm, maybe not enough for swimming but ideal for some /lit/-related sightseeing
>>24692588Spend near all 3 weeks in Lesbosand the place in Athens where a platonic dialogue takes place but i wont tell you where that is.
Athens and IstanbulThe rest is a cultural backwater
>>24692794>IstanbulConstantinople?
The lit way to travel is to travel your own way you fucking faggot.
Bump
>>24692588Travel to Athens in winter and read noctes atticae by gellius while gazing upon the acropolis in the rain.
>>24692588Make caca in your pants
Wake early, big breaths upon wrought iron balcony, smoke a cigarette, draw the smoke in deep, skip breakfast, pack a bag (water, book, journal, smokes, earphones), walk around town the whole day, listen to music, listen to locals, go to bar, get tipsy, have several conversations, get drunk, get sad, walk home, write for an hour.
>>24692588Sailboat. In your heart you know I am right. Learn how to sail and spend three weeks sailing around the greek archipelago. doing that is unironically my dream.
>>24692588Over the years i've read a lot of travel /lit/ about Italy, from Goethe to Stendhal. Sadly i couldn't find much literature of the sort about Greece, except for Byron
>>24693669Rec me some travel literature, anon.
>>24693661The islands are full of drunken bong chavs on ‘oliday.
>>24693661How long it take to get sailing license starting from millennial incel fag who can't tie his own shoes not to mention decent knots? Is week in sail school in Athens doable?>>24693672Not him but Kapuściński based, he writes more about Africa or India in 50s
>>24692588In Delphi right now. Started out in Nafplio where I saw Mycenae, then Athens to do all the major things plus a day trip to Eleusis, will be back in Athens for 3 days to do a day trip to Aegina and see the temple there. Overall I think it's a good itinerary since Delos and Knossos are the only two major ancient sites I'm not hitting. Not sure this thread is /lit/ thoever
>>24694024Delphi worth it? It’s on my itinerary for next summer potentially.
>>24692799>Constantinople Byzantium?
>>24694472Definitely. The ruins aren't nearly as well preserved as what's in Athens but the museum has a lot of really beautiful statues, friezes, and other art from the site. But the valley and scenery around the area are absolutely breathtaking and can make you understand why the ancients chose this place as their central religious site. The town itself is surprisingly charming too. The bus ride is only 2 1/2 hours from Athens.
