My mom has always said books are bullshit and buying them is a non sense waste of money
Is this a good use for a thread?
>>24693054You can buy like 6 hardback books for 5 dollars at flea markets /recross/salvation army; and that can last you 2 years if you are a normy. Its probably the cheapest hobby to have next to playing chess online.
>>24693054My mum was the opposite and was so proud that I was a voracious reader from the age of 4 onwards. Even though we were far from rich she would always buy me a book if I asked for it. I love my mum.
When I was a kid I was hanging out with a friend and we both loved this book series and so we walked to the book store and bought a copy eachThe money I spent had been given to me earlier by my grandmother and when my mom heard about it she got incredibly furious, drove me back to the store and forced me to ask for a refund
>>24693617bet it was something stupid like captain underpants
>>24693617I'd go to the bookstore to read animes whenever my nan would force me to go the mall with her. The Golden years.
Mine was the opposite. She'd buy any book as long as we could afford it. However she had no concept of what a good book was, so I mostly asked for crappy fantasy. >>24693639Loved doing this too. I read entire series that way. Lots of other kids were doing the same actually. I always wondered why no one ever stopped us.
>>24693060>>24693585>>24693714Here where I live books are not that cheap, so unfortunately she is not exactly wrong.
>>24693723Download books.
>>24693054buying anything is a non sense waste of moneythat's why I pirate
