I just started this in French. If you like Raymond Queneau's humor and writing you'll enjoy this. It's hilarious and the cast of characters so far is great. It reminds me of Queneau because of how aritificially all the characters become connected (I mean that in a good way).Also Echenoz is a masterful prose stylist in French and he has some great nuggets of insight in this novel. Hopefully the translation does him justice.
