Has /lit/ ever produced anything worth reading?
Most of the books shilled as products from the bowels of /lit/ are written by normie pretenders or genuine retards. So I would say yes they are worth reading. Not like I have anything better to do.
My diary desu
Corndog Zen.
>>24695844Katie threadIrish boomer lady effortpostBig chungus shitpostAnd anything I‘ve said obviously
i skimmed through the webzine best of and whatever is required to pretend to enjoy that writing just aint in me
>>24695862Give me the qrd
>>24695890Every single time I hit the "I want to be Katies little baby tampon boy" I fucking lose it. To answer your question OP, no. This site staves off boredom with anonymous consequence free interactions and new dying culture data points for your brain to assimilate every few minutes. The mind needs boredom to create. People who were raised here are bound to be useless creatively, and if someone already had worthy, respectable publications and were to come here to shitpost on the toilet, they would merely be tourists.
/lit/ is full of tons of writers and poets who have been published but would never dare namedoxx themselves here.
>>24695844My First Book, Brat, The Novelist, The Dance of the Lizard's Tale, The Hungry God, Corndog Zen, The Call of the Crocodile, L'Academie. There are too many to list. All excellent reading.
>>24695929Anon wrote a novel based on raising Arizona, it was pretty comfy. He linked free PDFs in a thread and it was well written.
>>24695844Elliot Rodger's diary/manifesto is more memorable and reads better than anything from this site
The Legacy of Totalitarianism in a Tundra
>>24696021And don't forget KK Wing's Beautiful Country, a touching story about an immigrant chicken farmer in Gold Rush era San Francisco.
I have authored many critically acclaimed shitposts.
>>24695985My personal favourite would be Harassment Architecture from Mike Ma, but I've heard interesting things about that Reinspects guy's one, as well as Woolston's work. And there was also that poet/novelist who pretended to be a girl. I'd include Tao Lin, but he's too professional to be included, and he's not a regular user.
>>24695844/lit/ as in a collaborative effort? The meme annotated version of Moby dick /lit/ as in individuals? Nope, we do have a lot of schizos who spam their shit and samefag to try and bait people
>>24696505I appreciate the hustle and I like a good schizo thread
>>24696505>schizos who spam their shitSpeaking of which...www.mongoldev.com
>>24695844I'm writing a manifesto and I'm hoping people would read it, but I'll likely post it by next yearIt's about epistemological negligence and its implications
>>24695844There was a best-of compilation of a magazine that was published here called &. The writing in the magazine overall was not good on average (used whatever was sent in), but generally each issue had a few stand-out pieces, so those were selected for the best-of and re-edited.https://the-best-of-amp.github.io/https://the-best-of-amp.github.io/assets/the_best_of_amp_digital.pdfTo comment on the other books mentioned: Brat by Gabriel Smith is very good, I Pray to the Hungry God is better than Eggplant (same author; has a story Void, in the best-of), the Legacy of Totalitarianism in a Tundra is stupid as hell but interesting for what it is and does have highs (I'm only a little more than halfway through). There's also one instance of a magazine on /lit/ that vetted and paid for submissions, which was Lit Quarterly. It had five issues, but supposedly after the first three there was an influx of submissions from outside /lit/ and 4chan. It and a bunch of other /lit/ magazines of varying quality are in here:https://mega.nz/folder/2gsHSSbA#Sl46P4LljGlk9mnpAf3MlwThere was also a best-of made of the Flash Fiction Anthologies that took place here, but there was never a PDF or table of contents released.
>>24696505I hope someone organizes another meme annotation because Moby Dick was unironically good. The perfect blend of shitpost, autism and genuine anon insight.
>>24695985>My First Book>“excellent reading”on Planet Retard
I wrote a literary fantasy about a religious cult that spreads and supplants the theocratic remnants of a fallen society. Deals with themes of fate, zealotry, loyalty, love, and group madness.Well reviewed by both professional and amateur critics.
Anyone actually read call of the crocodile or any of the other Gardner books
>>24696434If you include that one, you have to include Bronze Age Mindset. We know that fag lurks here.
>>24695844I wrote a kids book called Lost Doll's Land but never posted it here. Showed some anons on /r9k/ and they liked it if that means anything.
>>24697759the Kabbalah one was amazing
>>24695844The Legacy of Totalitarianism is one thing that can be attributed to "/lit/"
The Coronameron is pretty fun. A few genuinely good poems in there. Oob oob obby oob.
>>24695844every board has produced at least ONCE a meme that became global on 4chan...except for /lit/Truly, the least creative and imaginative board on the site....
>>24698261We're kind of responsible for Big Chungus.
>>24697759No, they're trash and at least one of them is straight AI shit>>24695844Baby Alex
>>24698261It’s rather embarrassing that /pw/ is the center of language and rhetoric innovation.
>>24696021Shame the first chapter is great, the rest don't live up to it.
>>24696255same. To my knowledge, I have 4 copy pastas across 4chan that gets posted regularly
>>24698261The web novel and genrefic autists take up too much oxygen. They should stay in /tg/ where they belong but no…..they have to come here and take their giant bellowing breaths.
>>24698354/wg/ is never going to produce anything memetic.
>>24698454That goes without saying. I don’t think writing generals should exist. Writing is a solitary activity, involving your inner world. There is nothing another person can provide in that endeavor unless it is in the form of a book. And even then you must be selective.
>>24695844Not besides schizo posts and book images and lists.
>>24698463Truke /wg/ and /wng/ fags eternally BTFO
For me, it's The Dance of the Lizard's Tale
>>24697997>>24698017Okay, what are the good Google Doc collabs? What sets them apart from one another? I know Tundra spawned sequels but heard they sucked, and there have to be about a dozen collabs like that since. I've been reading Tundra and it's hard to think there's much of a point to reading more like it if every subsequent attempt is a similar flavour of shitpost with a few genuinely good passages scattered inside. The original Tundra, Hypersphere, L'anomie, and Coronameron seem to be the big ones. L'anomie is the only one that isn't super long.Special mention to How I Glued Shut My Copy of Teen Beat Magazine By Schlicking Hot Juice All Over Jonathan Taylor Thomas's Full Page Spread.

>>24695844I made something that a few anons enjoyed and as far as I know, they didn't know it was from a /lit/ anon. Inwon't say which book cuz I don't want people to associate my name to 4chan but there ya go.
https://lit.trainroll.xyz/wiki/Collaborative_WorksI was in the middle of writing an article on the wiki about these sorts of projects before the admin locked the whole thing down. Most items don't have a good description, but I think my lists of projects are close to complete.
>>24700679>I don't want people to associate my name to 4chandon't be a coward
>>24700697Bonus:The Legacy of Totalitarianism in a Tundra is in the Bavarian State Library.Hypersphere is in the Museum of Modern Art (I swear I heard this one made it into the Library of Congress, but MoMA is cooler).Edward Burtynsky (photographer of pic rel, Burgerpunk fame) has two print copies of the & best-of.
>>24697137that sound kinda cool, where can I read it?

>>24700711Burgerpunkposting was really a nice time, I'm sad it didn't go on longer than it did. It's a neat idea, really.
>>24700757Here you go, my fine fellow.Shoot me a message on Goodreads if you'd like a free e-copy should you not want to give me shekels. Also available on Barnes and Noble, Target online, Indigo, and other booksellers if you don't like Amazon.https://www.amazon.com/Awakening-Mathew-Kellerman-ebook/dp/B0CJ5S9VWV/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?crid=2PHCXT4JURO5W&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.47r96R5FH9RZRWfInBm7OvLFFokWFpEOQ5Xj-45NlhPGjHj071QN20LucGBJIEps.TabOGKwsX5Tioi1x01BELqHlBXBSGqBNE6Ob00XQB8A&dib_tag=se&keywords=the+awakening+mathew+kellerman&qid=1757106143&sprefix=%2Caps%2C238&sr=8-1
>>24700874Pic related is my favourite take on it, although I'm no burgerpunk scholar. The focus is on the impact on the individual, whereas most other attempts I read treated it simply as a setting or set of props to throw around; here there's something interesting implied about how even if you believe you're living outside the system (or maybe in its cracks) you're still subject to the homogenising powers of corporate feudalism, and find yourself a caricature.>>24700864What's the title? The Lit Quarterly editor gave me some recommendations for pieces to read after I got my hands on the PDFs, but I haven't gone through yet.
>>24700952>What's the title?it's a secret because i am still paranoid about not anonymizing myself enough. but to give a hint: it's the best one.
>>24695844I produced a high fantasy story that I put online chapter by chapter. It’s done and now I'm formatting it for Amazon release, but sometimes anons from /sffg/, /wng/, and even the far-off realm of /tg/ read it in its entirety and seem to think it’s okayhttps://www.royalroad.com/fiction/93931/born-under-a-black-sun
>>24695844The (unfinished) reading guide to Western philosophy was briddy gud

>>24695844Remember this masterpiece?
Yes, I used to work as a writer for many years. My career was destroyed for opposing zionist genocide. I was a business journalist in technology and finance. I also ghostwrote a number of non-fiction books on business and technology mostly. Now my publisher is 4chan and I write for free out of love. I've poured thousands and thousands of words into this website because I can (somewhat) freely express my mind to a reading audience. My audience includes dissidents, federal agents, and military propaganda officers. My message, for the most part, is to denounce evil and invite to Islam. Sometimes I'm just venting. To be heard, to be understood, it is to me a physical need. There was a block on my heart and it has been lifted, as my Muslim brothers say to me. As for a living, I've been doing manual labor and food deliveries. Now I am working on my own business selling books and building a website. Many Muslims start their own businesses to employ themselves, it is Sunnah.Times are hard and it is even harder for a Muslim who is true to his people in Palestine. Muslims in the ghetto also start small businesses. Nabi Muhammad, peace be upon him, worked as a shepherd like David, peace be upon him, and then did trade like Solomon, peace be upon him. In the future, I'd like to withdraw from the world to raise sheeps and goats out in the country, and to build a Masjid and Zawiya on that parcel of land. At that point, the only writing which I would do is writing khutbas (sermons) and the only audience would be the Muslims physically present in the Masjid.Probably in English with a Southern accent, and Arabic for the Koran, Hadith, prayers, blessings, and honorifics.Words are a very powerful thing. The Scripture of evidence of this. A word can save a life or end a life, mind your words!
>>24701286>The Scripture is evidence of this.Spelling and grammar is also important.Especially when clear communication regards life and death. Two lost arts in our time: Writing and oration.Vital skills for politicians and preachers. We should take language seriously.English is very beautiful.
>>24701286>My audience includes dissidents, federal agents, and military propaganda officers.>Words are a very powerful thing. The Scripture is evidence of this. A word can save a life or end a life, mind your words!>>24701296A single kind word can save a life. When Nabi Muhammad, peace be upon him, lost his best friend, a Christian ascetic who supported his early prophetic revelations, he was so depressed that he attempted suicide multiple times. The holy angel Gabriel, who revealed to him the Holy Koran, saved him with his words each time he tried to commit suicide.A word, just a word, can save a life. Mind your words!Allah grant rest to Aaron Bushnell, cyber defense officer specialist in the 531st Intelligence Squadron at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. It was Saint Anthony, the father of all Christian monks, who inspired him. If only he could have been saved by a word. Allah guides whom he wills.
>>24701286>>24701296I pray you will abandon your worship of Satan and turn to Christ. He is the way, brother, and He waits for you with open arms.
>>24701316To the spiritually broken and defeated, I come to you with the Word from the Messenger of God, salallahu alayhi wa salam, through the holy archangel and announcer of God's will to mankind, the blower of the trumpet, Gabriel, directly from the Almighty:Do not kill yourself! Never give up!Rise and fight against Satan's evil forces.Live and survive and fight until God's will is done. You who would turn your swords upon yourself:Stop!Carry your sword for the Lord instead against Satan and his forces.
>>24701318I worship only God.Satan is the clear enemy.I reject and oppose Satan.Christ commands worship of God.Read your Gospel, Luke 4:8, worship God alone.Follow the way of Jesus Christ, peace be upon him, and worship God.This is the First Commandment, Exodus 20:3, worship God and God alone.>>24701296Satan is your clear enemy and suicide is a clear sin.Maintain your will to live, the servants of Satan will suggest you to suicide. You will be tested, there will be tribulations. All believers will be tested in this world. Here is the Sunnah, the Truth is revealed to you first in secret, and then it will be revealed in public, and there will be trials and tribulations. You will be persecuted for the sake of the name of Jesus Christ the Messiah, peace be upon him. They will deliver you to be killed. For the sake of the name of Jesus Christ, peace be upon him, you will be hated by all nations. All nations, without exception. Perservere in patience and prayer until the end, never lose your will to live. You must remain strong against Satan, oh Soldiers of God. Jundullah, beloved by your Lord. The Truth has come to you in secret from a place you did not expect, and in time it will be revealed in public, and persecution will come to you from all nations.
