How do you write a visual novel
>>
Fill it with thousands of lines describing generic japanese school life and then throw in an explosive plot twist like aliens or demons or killing a bunch of characters.

>High school
I feel it’s somewhat creepy to use high school as a setting for novels but it’s like the last time peoples from all walks of life get together. Maybe college?
>>
Write cute anime girls that do sometimes cute things and you'll win. Charming characters are the most important part of any VN. Weebs are comfortable being blasted with the same tropes on repeat so take popular character archetypes like the tsundere or kuudere and expand on them with your flair.
