Once again people are complaining about interpretations of books and the poor pedagogy of the book rather than it's literary merit, probably the most /lit/ thing that nu /lit/ does. I mean if you cannot trust teachers to teach a book's merits without devolving into political caricature, you might as well stop teaching the book. I wouldn't go so far as what Mike "Gorilla Mindset" Cuckovich says, and even that the book deserved some literary merit, but there are far more valuable books to teach than Mockingbird. Even of American ones it's not even top 10.
