Why don't you buy your books from Amazon? They even sell used books now. You have no excuse. Assimilate or face re-education by labour at an Amazon warehouse facility!>pic unrelated
>>24713329>go to ebay>search book>sort by price + shipping: lowest first>never spend more than $5
>>24713329There are people who don't buy their books from amazon? Why?
>>24713329Bezos is sitting on a pile of money so big he could spend a million dollar every day for the rest of life and not run out of it, so he's getting too cocky and he can afford to sell books that arrive in terrible conditions. Case in point: I bought 2 "new" paperbacks recently and they looked like they had to pass through the amazon forest to arrive at my house.>inb4 some retards tries to school me about the difference between assets and liquidity
I use thriftbooks or local bookstores. Not because I like small business, but because I am incredibly cheap and even used amazon books are often more expensive
I used to be able to get many used books on there for one cent and pay 3.99 for shipping, up until about 2016. But now it's often more expensive than driving to the bookstore and the handlers will crush and rip my books before they arrive at my home. I figure its only a matter of time before ordering something on there they will start breaking things on my house or parking their delivery van on top of my mailbox and charge $100 to do it.
because im in a country that typically has shit shipping to my country and i can typically find anything worth reading on norwegian book websites.
books always arrive in worse quality than secondhand. My favorite is when it arrives with soot from sitting in a warehouse for 5+ years
>>24713329I don't spend a nickel on books. I get everything from Anna's Archive, Gutenberg, and Monoskop. If they don't have the thing I want to read, I find the author online and bother them via email until they send me a PDF. If you pay for books in 2025 you're a retard.
>>24713329Do americans not have libraries?
>>24713329I use thriftbooks cause Amazon sellers lie about the condition and never face punishment from Amazon over it. I cancelled my Amazon account years ago. Use thriftbooks anons, they give you cheap free books too.
I do not care even a little where my books come from.

>>24714156Abebooks new algorithm ruined it for me. A lot of the shit I read is not often bought so I used to grab stuff all the time for like $2, now this shit is considered rare and like $14 even though I know it’s selling like two copies a year

Anna's Archive is free. The only time I get physical books is at book fairs.
>>24713895If you just allowed them to sleep there, they wouldn't be masturbating now would they ?
>>24713895I dunno what kind of library you go to but I live in an urban area and I see none of that.
I bought a La Pléiade from amazon recently but the price was too good so idk if it's real, they probably scanned the wrong book
>>24713329I check multiple platforms and go for the lowest price. I tend to prefer ebay and abebooks because the sellers provide images of the books and I'm an autist who cares about dustjacket condition. For more expensive books, I set an ebay saved search and wait a year or two to scoop up a nice deal
>>24715835It's called "unmedicated schizophrenic who struggles with disorganised thought."
>>24715895I live in a medium sized rust belt city and the library closest to my house has 4-5 homeless regulars who are there all day. One of them is a kind of hippie raver homeless guy who often wears a ripped tank top that exposes almost his entire chest and back. They only ever leave to smoke cigs directly outside the door. Coincidentally, I was talking about them with my ex earlier this week
