So far I am enjoying it but I have exactly 39 hours off until I'm back at work.Is it worth it?

I liked it. One of the scariest books I've read
>>24721254I suppose. It's one of the longer novels he's ever written, and I think even at this early period his editor should've been telling him to cut it down somewhat. >You WILL read through Lieutenant Mamiya's story of the well and you WILL like it>The baseball bat definitely means something, I swear>Cinnamon and his mom? Oh yeah we definitely wont abandon that subplot...
>>24723851>*Nutmeg and his momIt's been long since I read the thing for the second time. Very daunting. Apologies.
>>24721254very worth it imo. it's definitely possible to finish it in the time you have, and i really liked it
>>24724228I am not sure how much I'm enjoying it. I'm hoping it really goes off the rails for him into dream world pretty soon here because I'm getting a little tired of the chekovs whore bit here and page after page of allusions to his wife's obvious infidelity. I mean it was obvious the first time but I'm on hint hint HINT #11 and the hope is that my expectations are going to be subverted, that there's some point to all of this nose tapping other than wasting padding out the length.
>>24721254Sunday in the 4HL
>>24724397nta but I'll tell you a little secret: It's less about the wife and more about the protag himself and what he does about it, really. The infidelity is more of striking the matchstick than the actual candle flame, if that makes sense.
>>24724416Right well, hopefully its to some purpose is all, which ill only be able to see in retrospect as good or bad followed by a seething post I will make on the board. It's not the cheating as an element that's the issue its that every single scene seems to be broken by a scene of "hmm she's going to be home late again what could that mean gentle reader hmmmmmm m m m?" which lasts several pages. I hope that this format specifically has some greater purpose or I will be a bit ticked off. anyway back to reading.

If you're still at that part, you've got quite a bit more reading to do. It's long as shit, so I wish you the best of luck. It's the kind of book you have to read at least once, but if someone tells you to read it again you'll go "no way, fag"
