I've tried reading some of Hugo's poetry from Les Contemplations and I can't really appreciate it I feel like I'm too cynical for Hugo, his poetry feels too heartfelt for me and I instinctively cringe when reading itIs it worth trying to read more of Hugo or should I just skip straight to Baudelaire? What does /lit/ think of Apollinaire and Mallarmé?I enjoyed some of what I read from Alcools but I'm worried the rest of his work will be too gimmicky
