how do you guys keep disciplined with your reading during footballs season?
i'm not into soccer but since u seem british i just wanna say rip ricky hatton his boring clinchfests sucked to watch but he was still a real one
Dont watch sports
>>24723783negro-ball? oh boy, oh boy, i need to watch overpaid negroes kick balls. I just can not help myself.
>>24723783Football is for relaxing with friends, just get your work done early and fuck off for the day.
>>24723783niggerball is so fucking gay. even if i could tolerate watching commercials I don't want to see or hear that shit.
>>24724180Kek
>>24723783Did you hear Wogoo Bugooda was signed to Norf Ham FC? Bloody hell, I better stop reading and turn on the telly!
>>24723783>watching grown men chase a ball around a field in shorts or tightsI'm good
>>24723783I don't watch football but I recently stopped reading for a few days so I could watch the Dota 2 International tournamentThe team I wanted to win won, and there were a couple pretty good matches. Now that it's over with, I'm back to reading
>>24723783Watching sports is for dumb normalfaggots
>>24725255hey
I don't care about football. Or any sports, really.
>>24725255I dislike sports culture but I really like practicing sports myself. I like basketball, athletism and gym. Walking is one of my favorite activities, I hope I someday can buy a walker.
>>24725662>Differentiating between sports entertainment and sportsSTOP STOP SHIT UP AND BUY OUR SEASON PASS ON TOP OF YOUR REGULAR CABLE PLAN>he owns a TV>he pays for a cable
I don't watch sports, or TV in general. Reading is my primary hobby, I spend a few hours every day reading. On weekends I typically read 10+ hours.
I usually don't read a lot on weekends anyways
>>24725674My mother likes Football. I was never really into it and I think other women also don't or do it for social reasons.
>>24723783Watching cricket is the true /lit/chad sport.
>>24723783>watching sports ballMaybe if you're a teen but not anymore after that
>>24725801First class, saar!
>>24725815What novels are to the arts, cricket is to sports.
>>24725822You said that right. *smirk*
>>24723783I watch baseball instead. My Mets normally collapse and miss the playoffs on the last day of the season (like this year) right in time for the changing of the seasons and the dark days so it is a good segue into depression lit.
>>24723783I grew up in New England so you only had to watch to see if they'd get a perfect season since they made the playoffs for 20 years straight (except for the one year Brady was injured) and went to the Super Bowl every other year on average across those decades. Then I became a Buccs after they dumped the GOAT after back to back to back Super Bowl appearances and then he immediately won with a team that hadn't even made the playoffs in 14 years while BTFOing the Zoomer candidate for best QB. After that I figured football had climaxed and was pretty much over.
>>24723783>footballWe're talking about actual football, not handegg, correct? Anyway, I watch the game, then I read. It's the only things I do. Simple as.
>>24726047What do you find appealing about watching football? What is the intensity?
>>24726050Run KickRun
>>24726060Guess the sport:HitRunHit
>>24726050I've always liked kicking a ball around, so naturally I started watching it. I don't really think about it too much, I suppose I just like the entire footballing culture and history of nations like England, Germany and Italy. Old football was great to watch because it was inspired, creative yet brutal, while modern football is also interesting because it's so autistically tactical, and the sports science and data analysis that goes behind the scenes is fascinating to read about as well.
>>24726100>. But I feel like for most people is just watching a guy move randomly.
i legitimately do not understand sports fanaticism
>>24726112It really is a mystery that I have not been able to solve. And I say this as a guy who played a lot of sports, and enjoys watching it.
>>24726065Women’s boxing?
>>24726065Field hockey
>>24726100>I've always liked kicking a ball aroundI heard you like gargling them too
>>24725875The league got infinitely better once it wasn't watching that talentless system baby march to his predictable and yet meritless x+1th title each year.
>>24726274>>24726266I was actually talking about baseball.Hit (the ball with the bat)Run (Run through the camp)Hit (Repeat)
>>24723799Damn. Another boxer gone young. It's probably good that I let my controlling ex keep me from going into boxing and I took up literature instead.
>>24726345I never liked sports that cause brain damage. Most people see or do them for masculinity shit and then come out with 100 mental illnesess. Not saying boxing os bad entirely because I like a lot Mike Tyson and Muhamad Ali but I would only fight like that for practicing self defense.
>>24725249you were rooting for falcons? Are you muslim?
>>24723783As a big fella i resent the degree to which it was pushed (relentlessly) on me during my upbringing by parents/teachers/coaches, but if I go to a game I usually somewhat enjoy it. Gambling makes it outright fun, but it does that to anything. Just watching it and screaming at the tv is not something for me. Perhaps the redirected unhappiness that accompanies marriage will make me enjoy it as much as my father and his father before him thoughever.
>>24726322Repeat is kind of a copout
>>24726112A distraction for cattle.
>>24725255Sports would be infinitely more tolerable if it wasn't 80% commercials.
>>24726460No, I'm not Muslim, I think Sneyking and Cr1t are good players and Cr1t has been playing pro Dota forever and hasn't won a TI and I think he deserves a win, everyone knows he's one of the best position 4 players. I mainly just thought it'd be nice to finally see Cr1t win a TI after trying for so many years, although apparently Ame hasn't ever won a TI before either and he's been around a long time too, so if XG won then that'd be cool because maybe it would make China more interested in Dota and increase the game's player population, idk
>>24726301Yeah, but only your mom's
>>24723783Football is the default interest of normies. Today, people are only mildly cognizant of sports. "Did you see how the false nine's decoy run creates the vertical passing lane for the inverted winger's underlapping run?" Shut the fuck up.
>>24725822I'm curious about this statement, and I will try watching cricket today.
>>24723783I hope no one here unironically watches goyball
>>24727769watch test cricket. t20 and odi are cattle shit.
