Do you prefer the original, Ted Hughes edited version or the restored version? I like the narrative created by the way Hughes ordered the poems and his inclusion of her last poems.
Tulips is my favorite of the bunch. If I could describe something as mundane and miserable as a hospital stay with half the beauty that Plath does, I would be happy.
>>24723992I'd be inclined to trust Hughes, who was always her guide, mentor and biggest fan.
>>24724058He left out a couple of good poems because they painted him in a bad light. Hard to edit well when it's your ex-wife writing about the fallout from your marriage.
>>24723992I've never read anything Plath has written, but I know she was a terrible writer with nothing of worth to say.

>>24723992Only read the first edition. It's a good collection.
>>24723992Hard to choose, but honestly neither >>24724076You're missing out. Her control over liquid, open vowels in Ariel alone makes her worth reading
>>24723992>I rise with my red hair>And suck dick like airThe Restored Version, by all means
