What are some similar books to pic related that chronicle spiritual journeys, preferably leading to Christianity (maybe even Christian mysticism) in the end?

The imitation of Christ - Thomas a Kempis
>>
>>24724813
I have read it and it doesn’t chronicle a spiritual journey.
>>
>>24724815
Fair, then the confessions of st Augustine will satisfy you. Or perhaps you’ve already read it?
>>
>>24724822
Thanks, I have already started reading it, but to be honest I’m looking rather for modern books, where people who lived in modernity went on a spiritual path and ended up Christians.

This book was strange. He seethes about everyone and everything for 200 pages and then randomly becomes a Catholic without ever explaining why he believes Catholicism is actually true.

Ah ok. Then I’ve got a secret tip.

Ernest psichari - the voyage of the centurion

Has this even been translated?

Kierkegaard

The Way Of Perfection by St. Teresa of Avila

A very deceptively simple book. There's no great secret, just simple devotion to the furthest of ends. But that is the secret to the Divine.

Oh yeah, sorry. It was only translated into Italian, German, Spanish, Czech. I have German translation. But if you speak any of these languages, it’s worth checking out.

Roosh V - American Pilgrim
where an autistic 3rdie overcomes his own gaping wet hole in his soul and takes many red pill orthobros with him
>>
Seraphim Rose’s biography is interesting. He was heavily into the study of eastern religion in his youth. Though desu the book is overly long and also his best friend herman was a pedo

What's the title of that? Is it "Orthodoxy"?

Louis Bouyer, Newman: His Life and Spirituality
.
Spiritual Journeys, edited by Robert Baram. An excellent compilation of Catholic conversion stories by a wide range of people - blue collar types to academics. It might be out of print, but used copies are available. Highly recommended.

Honey from the Rock by Roy Schoeman. Jewish conversion stories, including the Ratisbonne brothers -- an amazing story. Schoeman's conversion story is recounted on several youtube posts. It's a remarkable story, as well.

A Severe Mercy by Sheldon Vanauken. Atheistic to Christian via C.S. Lewis, whom he studied under. A minor classic, imho. Vanauken later became a Catholic.

A Light to the Gentiles: The Life Story of the Venerable Francis Libermann by Adrian van Kaam

Pic related is a good one.

Weird read on it. He talks about being drawn to Catholicism throughout much of his pre-conversion adult life. He "seethes" (as you would say) about his past behavior and some aspects of modern life he used to enjoy, but it's hardly 200 pages of negativity. The one confusing thing was the end of his time in England, when he makes a big deal about how bad he'd gotten but doesn' say why. Apparently, he got some chick pregnant, but the head of his abbey made him cut that part out.

Also, faith isn't a logical thing. It's rather autistic to expect him to explain why Catholicism is true.

Take a look at the biography of St Charles De Foucauld written Jean-Jacques Antier. St Francis canonized him a couple of years ago. It is similar to what you're looking for. Degenerate sinner becomes a Saharan desert hermit.
