was she a good writer?
>>24728320I don't like her as much as her fans like her, but I feel like it's pretty inarguable that she was notable at the very least. Far, far better than the usual scifislop/fantasyslop we're inundated with, Le Guin could actually write a good sentence>inb4 wimminz tranny commie wimminz memewords
I like The Dispossessed and the opening to The Lathe of Heaven knocked me on my ass. However, her books give me the impression of being tied to their time. Like the social issues of her far flung future worlds lack relevance. I'm unfamiliar with sci-fi so maybe the genre just isn't for me.
>>24728320Yeah.I always thought it was sad how she bent over after being called not feminist enough by her contemporaries.
>>24728320One thing I find interesting about her is that she can write well for all age groups. >>24728340 mentions some of her good works for adults, A Wizard of Earthsea is a great novel for young adults, and she had a very good children's series called catwings.
Bump
Are you just going to make this stupid thread for every writer?>Leo Tolstoy >Was he actually a good writer
A lot of litfags in here need to read weininger, stop shilling foidslop
>>24728320no, she is rated and remembered(should I say pushed) because she was one of the first wokie
not at all, but i did like the earthsea series as a kid for some reason. i think i was into the island gimmick and the tombs
>>24728320I hate her
