was she a good writer?

I don't like her as much as her fans like her, but I feel like it's pretty inarguable that she was notable at the very least. Far, far better than the usual scifislop/fantasyslop we're inundated with, Le Guin could actually write a good sentence

I like The Dispossessed and the opening to The Lathe of Heaven knocked me on my ass. However, her books give me the impression of being tied to their time. Like the social issues of her far flung future worlds lack relevance. I'm unfamiliar with sci-fi so maybe the genre just isn't for me.

Yeah.
I always thought it was sad how she bent over after being called not feminist enough by her contemporaries.

One thing I find interesting about her is that she can write well for all age groups. >>24728340 mentions some of her good works for adults, A Wizard of Earthsea is a great novel for young adults, and she had a very good children's series called catwings.

Are you just going to make this stupid thread for every writer?

>>
