When I first read it I had no idea of who Gaddis was, had only heard his name a few time so I grabbed it when I stumbled on a copy for a $1 at a used book store. I liked it, found it fairly interesting in how the narrator's seethe blinded him from what he supposedly cared so much about, I liked it enough that it got me to read more Gaddis. Should revisit it now that I have read more Gaddis.
