I’m not very fond of marijuana. I spent a long time smoking it but at a certain age the interest just evaporated. In retrospect I don’t think I ever really enjoyed it, I enjoyed spending time with my friends, when that became decoupled from smoking weed slowly I realised weed was just yielding negatives.
At this stage I just don’t want it. I refuse it when it’s offered and if I think about my memories it amounts to “I’m glad that’s over”, like a shitty relationship or an unpleasant job. I wish I could do that with cigarettes, when I have them I don’t want them, and when I don’t have them I want them.

Reading Philosophy while high is peak enlightenment.
>>
>Reading
If it's a dense book that requires more active reading then it can be a hindrance since it slows you down, but it does enhance the psychological experience
>Writing
Be careful, anon. It gives the illusion of enhancing your writing experience, but more often than not is killing your productivity in the long-term. Eventually you either have to learn to do most of your writing without it or you end up using it as a crutch. Speaking from experience here.

Weed's good for me on occassion but if I make it a habit it sucks. I tend to be way to serious in life an stress myself to the point of delusion. Nothings ever good enough, there's always more to strive for. But with weed it just takes the edge off, it makes me a very unserious person... But a person who don't take anything serious except the moment is pretty damn useless and pointless. ultimately.. so balance in all things I guess.

Slow release.. good shit
>>
>>24729819
I can't read anything besides fiction with weed. Writing is complete shit when I am high, but editing is preferred after eating a gummy
>>
>>24729830
It takes me twice as long to read a page while high, but what's the rush? Getting high is all about leisure. That being said, I prefer active and deep reading, so I just drink copious amounts of tea
>>
>>24729824
Nicotine does nothing as soon as you're addicted to it except make you want more nicotine. If you were to stop for a week, then have some, sure.
Weed on the other hand always gets you high and it's very stimulating at the right dose.

Not exactly same but last year I did 2c-b-fly and after a short walk I got back home and spent several hours obsessively reading articles on connection of John the Baptist and Hermes Trismegistus. 10/10 would recommend.

One of my guilty pleasures in life is taking a small edible and reading sci fi or horror stories while listening to dark ambient
>>
Weed just puts me to sleep. I can't focus on reading. Or doing much of anything, really.

I don't really care for it.
>>
Shrooms are infinitely better than weed. It's like being stoned but you can actually remember the shit you did while high.

I quit smoking a few months ago. Kinda miss it though I have insanely vivid dreams now. I don't think quitting improved my life at all really. I could never read and smoke to keep with the thread topic, I can drink and read smashed reading is pretty cool.
>>
Marijuana just made me delusional and terrified. No idea how others enjoy it. Have tried it dozens of times and can only think of 1 or 2 times where it just wasn’t awful.
>>
Try smoking salvia when you're reading a horror novel.
>>
Can't really do anything very productive on it.
If i'm on a nice train of thought it can feel very fun and beautiful, but it doesn't translate to words for me very easily, and mostly just turns horny.

I used to be able to smoke anything in any amount but basically developed an intolerance and now most weed will just make me extremely paranoid. It's because of unbalanced strains that are very strong.
You could probably find some strains you could cope with, there are a couple I'm fine with but it's not worth the trouble imo. I don't smoke or drink anymore and I'm happier for it.
>>
>>24731077
I haven’t drank in 7 years and I’m miserable. I think if I wasn’t married I would have relapsed by now. I’m with you on the weed, there might be some low dose thc/high cbd strain out there that would work for me but then I’d just get hooked on that and honestly it’s not worth the mental anguish to get there. I first smoked pot in like 2007 and even then it was too much. I’m just not cut out for it
>>
>>24731036
you can't read on salvia. that one's just for the trip.

I love having a sesh while listening to an audiobook. It's absolutely peak comfy when I'm listening to Lovecraft.

What I am getting from this thread, for those who are for or against weed, it is the same; a chance to jerk off in public.

I smoked weed every day for 15 years straight. Have abstained for three years now.

Wish I never smoked the shit at all.
>>
>>24731077
Same thing happened to me a few years back. Smoked from the time I was a sophomore in high school until I was 30. At points close to an 8th a day. Then towards the end I was having panic attacks and shit anytime I so much as hit a bowl. Made quitting easy when it went on for a few weeks and the smaller breaks made the effect worse any time I tried.

I do sometimes miss it but honestly wish I had never smoked now. Added absolutely nothing to my life.
>>
>>24731133
I don’t smoke anymore but this seems like it would have been great. I used to listen to early era podcasts like Farman on Batman, 99 percent invisible, song exploder and early radiolab when stoned. Audiobooks would have been solid.

And I say that as someone who generally looks with disdain at audiobooks as a format. Never listened to one in fact.
>>
>>24731023
The strains have too much thc, when I'm going to smoke I take a few drops of cbd and next thing I know is that i'm completely anesthesized, only do it a handful of times per year tho
>>
I want to shove those gay little plants up your ass oh yeahhhh
>>

>Cigarettes make you focused. Weed makes you dude lmao.
When you mix the two it evens the experience out. I think they call that a weedball.
>>
>>24731140
So, weed does make you stupid?
>>
I smoked weed everyday for a decade and I didn't read a single book during that time. Would not recommend/10
