It's possible to write a novel that visualy looks like a zine?
>>

Why wouldn't it be?

>countries at low sea level
>"ex Switzerland"
>SWITZERLAND
>LOW SEA LEVEL
who the fuck wrote this? this is dumber than all the "global sea level rise" predictions that show the Caspian swallowing the Pontic-Caspian Steppe.

I assume it would be more dificult to publish than raw text.

It's a zine from a high school.
>>
I miss 'zines.

I never ready any Vonnegut, other than Galapagos, but doesn't he do this in some of his?

I kind of like the idea of including ephemeral elements and such. Like Meditations in Green, or Moscow to the End of the Line, but it's kind of gay post-modern wankery, too.

are you fucking kidding me?
do you just spam every fucking board you absolute fucking retard?
>>
>>24732299
Basically, yes. You'll just have to deal with it like a man.

>>24732246
misses the point of a novel

>It's a zine from a high school.

NTA, but in that case, I'll repeat what I said from the last thread. I have heard about zines. I heard zines were made and produced at places like Kinko's back in the day. But I work in a large print-and-mail store chain and have NEVER seen anyone make a zine. Usually if someone needs something printed out it's because it's some zoomer, boomer, or non-white who doesn't have a computer with a printer, and almost always paperwork. Well, there was that one furry who needed what looked like a nametag with his fursona for a convention, but things like that are few and far between.

Is this an obsession you have with the past or is my location just a cultural dead zone? Both can be correct.

Zines were done at places like kinkos back in the day when most of the people making them did not have a computer. The style comes from doing the typing on a typewriter and assembling the completed page collage style which is then photocopied. In these days of cheap laser printers and computers, there is not much reason to go to kinkos to make your zine. Even back in the day it was common to do them at school/work for free. Either way, people who make zines probably don't go to malls.

Indie bookstores and music shopes still have zines but zines are mostly local so they will not have them unless someone local is making one.

Aren’t you the guy who asked if you could make a video game into a novel? The book placeholder was called “Water we doing to our planet”

It doesn't look like a zine, it looks like some digital scrapbook. Real zines were usually xeroxed and had that inevitable copier aesthetic.

Zines where made with what was available and used anything and everything from offset presses to dot matrix printers. We had a local one that was done in dry point.
>>
>>24733547
Fair enough. They're not made with teenage girl washi tape though.
>>
>>24733551
Why not? I know a girl who used her childhood sticker collection for one issue of her zine.

No novels that I know of, but Donald Barthelme has a few short stories that play with that visual look. Maybe more newsprint or a column and less like a zine. Also Gass does some weird visual stuff in Willie Masters Lonesome Wife. Its a good question though. Amateur zines were never really popular like that that I recall. I don't know of any writers that did the pro magazine look in a story either.
