Plain and simple, you have to be retarded to believe in the occult. While I can appreciate some form of ritual or meditation, meant to put you in a certain state of mind of for the purpose of reflection, the idea that thought, isolated from action, can affect the world, is retarded.

And the arguements you'll get from the basement dwelling mongoloids who think they're warlocks, usually amount to some form of a new Cartesian Circle, where the basic argument is that we're too stupid to understand their "higher plane", which they convienently have no empirical proof of, because that kind of thing is for normies.

Occult books are interesting in an anthropological sense, in that it allows you to understand how people coped with a lack of empirical understanding of the world they lived in, and created myths that allowed them to "shape" it with will, when action could not do so, but if you read these books with the hope of being able to make will manifest, then you had better hope the first cult that comes along doesn't plan on a mass suicide, because it you're dumb enough to let yourself get recruited

It's all midwittery for people who believe there's some kind of great answer to everything and life isn't just a bunch of random bullshit

Way too broad a question to give a good answer. Yes, many are worth reading. Not always for the reason you would think.

Browsing /x/ for an hour is the same experience as reading occult lit
>>
>>24733959
That's no fun. What you do is stitch together a ritual on advice from resident /x/ schitzos, perform it, and hopefully get in contact with a lower level demonic entity that will ruin your life and mind. Then you should seek organized religion to escape your predicament, usually Christianity, but you could go with something wackier. Then you go around the boards telling people to stay away from the occult and join your religion instead sourcing your own experience as an example.

I made a tulpa once; does that count?
>>
>>24733997
Yes, that's the good shit. You need to get as mindbroken as possible
>>
>>24733823

A lot of it's bullshit but there's a few genuine sections within it. Had a psychotic episode due to it, don't recommend
>>
>>24733823
Only the ones hiding the truth about the invisible nature of reality, the rest are new age bullshit.
