>>24734903> found the keyWhen things are locked up for unkown reasons, it is best to leave it like that.
>>24734910So if I locked you in a cell for unknown reasons and left the key inside, you’d still sit there like an obedient tard. Good to know.
>>24734919>So if I locked you in a cell for unknown reasonsimpossible
>>24734929It’s impossible for someone to kidnap you and lock you up without you knowing why? You can say improbable, but that has happened to plenty of people.
>>24734903Oh jolly! Love when Science tells me what is right!
studies have debunked common sense
>>24735441leo strauss punching air rn
>>24734919You just described humanity, we're all trapped there, few are using the key to escape and we vilify them for it.
>>24737039I'd kill you just for uttering that. This is my way to escape. Don't vilify me.
Most philosophers don't even pretend to answer questions like that. The no. 1 pseud misconception is that philosophy concerns life problems like how to be happy or the "meaning" of life, as if someone can tell you a proposition or two and you'll understand it all. Whatever the guy in the OP is talking about falls under life-wisdom, phronesis, the sort of thing people learn by experience and is not actually discursive or conceptual, even if you can sum it up in some corny phrases.
>>24734903So what's the key
>>24737827idk. its behind a paywall
>>24737827they key is pay your taxes
>>24737827vote for trump and donate to isr*el
>>24737827>realize that you're not that important>just be nice :)>focus on others>enjoy good food and drink with family and friends, but in moderation>exerciseIt blows my mind that this is the sort of shit people think they're going to get from reading Aristotle or Kant. Then it's, "what is this? Just a bunch of words! What does this have to do, like, with my lifeeeee man?" Your life isn't interesting, no one's is.
>>24734919You're going to need a gun to do that :^)
>>24737932>It blows my mind that this is the sort of shit people think they're going to get from reading Aristotlelike Nicomachean Ethics?
Oh my SCIENCE! Philosophy is done for. Bazinga!
>Philosophy is prior to Science>Science can't give us ethics>Scientific method is non-testableLol, when did scientism become the norm?
>>24737969Right, the meat of NE, the catalogue of virtues, is banal, and what would you expect? NE is not a guide to being a good person, he explains what he is doing quite clearly but it went over your head apparently. It makes me depressed that philosophy is so interesting and a high IQ activity but it seems to mostly attract subliterate retards and stoners.
>>24735062If you kidnap me and lock me up, the reason will become clear pretty quicky. It'll likely be ransom or rape, reasons that aren't particularly complex
>>24735441Well i guess its time to kill the scientists then
>>24734903I fucking love science
