I have read almost all of the relevant texts of Vedantic metaphysics and ethics and many of the most relevant texts from the other schools of Hinduism.All of the books that I read fail to address the necessity of grace. It gets even worse - because even if everything's true essence is the brahman, they would have to somehow explain the origin of each person, being the infallible brahman, falling into maya, which makes brahman inherently fallible.

The unconditioned Atman-Brahman abides within Its creations (like minds) but without being tainted by them or affected by their delusions whatsoever. Everyone’s true essence is the unaltered and immortal Brahman which is not subject to maya at all. It only falsely seems to because you are mistakenly attributing properties of the Atman-Brahman to the phenomena which It illuminates and vice-versa in return.
