The left is dead. If you want genuine socialism in the 21st century, coopt right populism and recreate national socialism or national syndicalism. National socialism is the only way. It's in every mainstream history book on the major fascist states that they effectively did great "communism in one nation." The qualitative transformation Marx wanted, from sick bourgeois man and proletariat man with their instinctive presumptions (due to the process of alienation) that wages are ontologically real, actually did occur in the fascist states, for better or worse. The Volksgemeinschaft annihilated the capitalist experience of wage, labor, and money-value. The greatest achievements of the socialist New Man in the USSR were dwarfed by those of the fascists. Is this a perfect solution if your ultimate goal is some post-national post-war global utopia? No, but as Marx and Engels and Lenin all themselves believed, national-level socialisms would necessarily precede international socialism. There is little difference between having a Chartist revolution in the 1830s and turning British "national-socialist" and having a National Socialist movement today. Just don't bother with any biological reductionist race fetishism. You might see corporate support shift some if all the groyps can't produce enough offspring. If ai makes enough of them obsolete then they will go with whoever nationalizes. What does this mean to the left? You can look back at similar moments. The excessive ego shaming hasn't panned out well for them. They historically have purported to care more about the truth but this was during a time when the opposition had no real unity. Now the situation is reversed. Some of what could have been useful in past isn't all that useful. Take the reverse cancel culture, how many of the right people still watch TV? How many people still watch TV at all? Newsom's redistricting has to win, but it could cost CA universities and so forth. It boils down to whether they want to continue to point fingers or go with socialism. When I was a kid, I went to a birthday party. All the kids were playing that pinata game. Someone broke the pinata open and all the candy fell out.
