What a ridiculous cover. The paperback cover is a jpeg of a man weeping and staring at the camera lens. This is precisely why I only purchase the oldest prints of books possible - often the first editions. Imagine having this horrific thing staring back at you from your bookshelf.
>>24742782Thats a good cover. The navel is where the umbilocal cord was detached from the body of his mother and hes wanting for a nourishing connection with his mom like any good son. But he cant have it. The natural nourishment of his mothers umbilical spendings are severed forevermore. That is why all men are miserable. We can imagine a natural progression of this scene would be digging into the navel with his teeth and trying to pull on it to make it an outie. He might resort to using pliers or a syringe to get the leverage or suction necessary to pull it out all the way. It's also a funny play on words because its a NAVEL on front of a NOVEL. It makes me interpret the book in a new light without diminishing the quality of the book, and that's what a good cover does.
