Probably something stupid, like "black girl plays baseball" or "vaginas are good"
>>
Used to burn Harry Potter for being devil worship. Case of horseshoe theory in action, I guess
>>
I can't tell if people are genuinely stupid or just lying through their teeth anymore
>>
>>24744800
It's both, unfortunately

Mein Kampf
>>
There are no truly banned books in the US. You can even still get copies of Mein Kampf and Turner Diaries if you really want them.

When a book is "banned" here it means some school district or county decided to pull it from public schools or public libraries. That's it. You can still buy the book at a bookseller or online if you want it, it just won't be available through taxpayer-funded libraries.
>>
>>24744882
What about books with you-know-what (mention-it-and-get-banned) images in them?

What are some unironically taboo books
>>
It has always been one of the most annoying things about liberals that they want to have things both ways, both the political power of being the ruling class but also the moral and cultural credit and coolness factor of being the underdog to the ruling class.

Lolicon manga
>>
>>24746983
Yeah lolicon manga and Japanese photobooks are probably the best example of a truly banned book in the US.

For a while adult graphic novels were de-facto banned due to the whole comics code thing.
>>
>>24744545
Why are liberals always banning books? I thought they stood for progress.
>>
>>24746895
"why do conservatives not want libraries for children to be stocked with books about a Native American's masturbation habits and an 'ex'-Trotskyite's rape fantasies"

Catcher in the Rye is chud coded

>hurr durr liberals ban books because woke cancel culture
MAGA trash theocrats almost always are the ones clutching their pearls over some passing reference to homosexuality or masturbation or whatever.

much like the internet, if parents are that concerned about sheltering their kids from "o noes the bad words!" then they can keep them at home in bubble wrap all day.

>>24744882
>Turner Diaries - where's my day of the rope fap material?!?!?

As far as I know the Turner Diaries wasn't banned or challenged anywhere, including the most liberal of municipalities. probably just more fake martyrdom from the MAGA trash.

TDD is the fat sweaty incel version of 50 shades of grey - written just as badly and total garbage. but neither should be banned, even from school libraries.

Didn't any of you read some massively age-inappropriate stuff when you were kids? And you turned out (relatively) OK right? or rather, if you didn't it wasn't because you read about a couple of gay dudes in Wyoming or whatever.
>>
>>24746895
is it really banned when you can find them in any bookstore in america?
>>
>>24744545
Never would have thought George Takei was a Mein Kampf enjoyer.
>>
>>24747904
"Banned" means the subject matter is inappropriate for children.

Wow, I‘m genuinely amazed how bad that list is. I count 4 books that I actually like and even allowing for that I‘m kind of a hardass the proportion of actual good literature can‘t be more than 10%.

It’s funny that the same parents who give their kids phones at age 6 they use to watch porn and make their own are somehow screeching about library books with badly drawn cartoons. It’s that proper 80s feeling of banning Doom for causing violence and never locking up your guns because freedumbs then crying about vidya when the kid eats a bullet or shoots a classmate.

Watch out for those kids playing their Ozzy records backwards too.
