Normally I write, then the next day I re-read what I wrote the day before, then I re-read when I post to patreon, and then I re-read again when I post to RR a few weeks later. Then I format the manuscript for epub and amazon, and I re-read again. For the first volume I re-read twice which was a huge PITA and I still missed a few typos (corrected now).

My line editing is mostly on point by the time it hits RR/manuscript, but where I've been lacking is overall structural editing. Books 2 and 3 are going to get that a lot harder before they're published, and in a year or two when I release an omnibus I'll go back and do some structural editing to Book 1.

Today's re-read was a struggle because my mental game today is shit and I've been wrangling all my loose plot threads and trying to weave them into the climax and my first attempt was shit. Now it's much better. But it's a lot of mental RAM used up if that makes any sense.

I'm excited, but fuck, book 3 is now already twice the length of book 1, and it'll wind up twice the length of book 2 before I pare it down. Book 3 is going to be a massive chonk by comparison if anyone actually buys the physical trilogy.

I've noticed something interesting on RR though. After my ad runs finished I didn't buy any more, and my growth slowed and then came to basically a complete halt at the part of the story where pacing issues were wearing out readers. Follower count stagnated, and even fell a bit. So I figured that even though the story improved later, it would remain stagnant. But now that I'm at the end of book 2, where the pace is much improved and the story is racing towards the local climax, follower and view growth has picked up again. I have no idea what's causing this. Maybe someone shouted me out or is talking about me in the forums or something. I don't have author premium to see where readers are getting linked from.

But hey, it's nice to know that a weak beginning and middle isn't enough to kill a story entirely as long as [It's Serialized].

For me it's Japanese LN titles that are like twenty words long and include the entire premise of the story. Adding tags is tacky. The tags are ALREADY VISIBLE or should be apparent from the title and cover image.
MagicRhythm's title is perfect in this regard. It succinctly gives the premise of the fiction and sets expectations correctly. It's a slice of life story, OPMC, no progression, magic, and so on.

Alright I'm not normally into webslop, but I read Worm and Mother of Learning out of curiosity.

Worm was great, especially the final arc, even though it had some very obvious flaws (the timeskip, the wards section, the hunt for the cloned slaughterhouse 9). I'm glad I powered through to the payoff.

Mother of Learning was sloppier, the ending was pretty lame, but it was enjoyable enough throughout and at least competently written on a sentence level (the snarky dialogue and some of the oddly stiff recounting of critical events did bother me though).

I tried a few recs from the link in the sticky, and they were just awful (Rend, Katalepsis). I also checked out the best-rated list on Royal Road, but I couldn't even get past the blurbs for those (who are these people reading this shit?). I just want something long, entertaining, and mindless to read, preferably on the lower end of the chinkslop/autism spectrum. Is there a real list of recs somewhere?

A GAME OF's black text blends into the background on the thumbnail, the rainbow edging doesn't help. Consider a more pastel only edging or just going with a light colored edge for better contrast. Actually it's not even rainbow it's just fucked up.
