Please recommend books that deal with learning how to let go.
>>
Read Schopenhauer or Ecclesiastes or something
>>
Contemplation of the natural world and the cosmic order of things. Yes, it's not reading, but it's better. Only through contemplation you can feel divinity and its healing properties.

Meditations of Marcus Aurelius
the letters of Seneca
or pretty much anything the Stoics did
>>
Or you could read Chekhov. His stories are always about families having to learn to “let go” of their pretenses and expectations in order to live harmoniously.

Don't run from the pain. You will make it worse.

Read Garfield comics or something. Kill time the best you can until things get better.

Evola: The Doctrine of Awakening

The consolation of philosophy by Boethius teaches everything you need to know about suffering and acceptance.

Those philosophical recs are terrible advice. How do you know they won't make things worse?

It's also kinda hard to properly read a complex text while in extreme pain

Worked for me. I'd imagine it's a worse idea to read a heavily pessimistic text that sours your good mood.

If you already have an decent understanding of pessimism, read Cioran. Not too technical, so its readable even if you are in pain. But if you don't have enough knowledge on the topics he talks about, you won't get much out of it. It feels more like a meditation which deepens your thoughts.

I interpreted your request into that you are in chronic physical pain and want to end your life because of it. So if that is wrong just ignore me.
