Paperback is pretty much worthless after a couple of reads, it comes apart. So if it’s a book you plan on reading multiple times or using for reference, definitely hardcover

I have Moby Dick and an ~800 page collection of the Romantic poets (ie the usual suspects) in these editions, and last weekend picked up a collection of Emily Dickinson's poetry. The actual covers themselves are a little gaudy, but I personally don't mind the Emily one
