master race. thick, dark lines, smooth writing feel. they both have a tendency to skip if the ink gets too cold though

Zebra G-402 0.5mm in black.
Pictured is an F-402 0.7mm in blue, because I work in a regulated industry that doesn't allow gel or black ink, and I can't get the retards in procurement to understand that tip diameter matters.

i use some $5 gel thing i don't know the name of. isn't dry when i open it, doesn't care about my angle, dries in half a second so it doesn't smudge on my hand, pretty thin and very consistent. light, never lost grip. plebeian i guess but i don't know what more i'd want.

also i tried some pencil and i really don't get it. i have to turn the thing 90° every three letters to keep it sharp and manageable? holy fuck. intolerable. don't know how i kept sane through primary school.

my workplace had those, so i took one and it separated into its single, individual pieces in my pocket in less than ten minutes. brought my own pens after that.

pilot g2 7mm, a thing of beauty. Been using them for a decade

i appreciate the recommendation but that is much too large for me. looking it up what i have now is 0.4 and i actually need something smaller.

>for writing
Fountain pen. I like that there is no grey area between writing and not writing, if you stop for more than a few seconds you either put the cap on and actually stop and consider things or end up with the ink drying in the nib. So if I stop, I stop, I put the cap on and think before resuming instead of sitting there with pen poised ready to go off on any half baked path that seems good in the moment.
>for notes
Pigma Micron in various colors and thicknesses. Used to draw a lot but stopped, started using them for notes just to use them up and it stuck.
>for everything else
What ever is handy.

Pens suck, mechanical pencil master race
>>
I bought my autist artist gf that I went to jail for a namiki falcon fountain pen with flex nib, and it was a beautiful writing experience. I've used a lot of shitty cheap fountain pens and only the namiki for high end, but it really gave one of the most pleasant writing experiences ever and gave the ability for so much more expression. I am surprised that no one has mentioned nib pens, but also not because "entry level" ones are just strictly worse than even the cheapest ballpoints or pencils

If you're going to go with a pencil, at least go with THE BEST.
This sucker is legendary, the Pentel P205.

Yes, also pilot v7rt and uniball air.

Is there a solution to the pen clip problem? Every pen I get breaks apart because I like playing with the clip. They all fail, sooner or later.
>>
>>24750391
Unfortunately the only fix is to quit fiddling with it. Our pens will forever be clipless. Oh well, the juice is worth the squeeze.
>>
>>24750391
Hone the edges of the clip to razor sharp, you will stop fiddling with them in short order.

Gel pens are for retards.
>>
>>24749208
i wish i had a fountain pen that never ran out of ink.
>>
>>24750571
Why?
>>
>>24750582
Gel pens are water-based ink. So...
Gel pen marks smudge easily, and have difficulty marking on certain papers, and the ink is consumed much faster.

The only "pro" for them is that they are "easier" to write with, but anyone who actually NEEDS that is either a fucking cripple on the verge of death who's also a woman, or a faggot.
